At the welcome in the studio of Verissimo Giancarlo Magalli, Silvia Toffanin he did not hide his astonishment at the physical change in the conductor, who told himself without filter that he had been battling a tumor. Fortunately, as the conductor himself explains, the worst seems to be over.
“In 90% of the cases, the cancer I had is curable. It certainly wasn’t easy when my daughters were told I had two months to live,” said the conductor.
It was not an easy moment for the conductor, who shared many details of his struggle with Silvia Toffanin and also revealed that he had lost many kilos.
“It was a delicate phase in my life. I lost 24 kilos but I’m slowly recovering. Now I’m healed. I felt pain in my spleen and since I had fallen I thought it was a result of the fall. When I saw it failed, I ran some checks. In the same period I also caught a pretty bad infection with a fever of 40. I was taken to the emergency room. I was treated with strong drugs for this infection and in fact I also had hallucinations and wrong behavior”, the touching words of the conductor, who fought it with the support of the family, which helped him to face even the most delicate moments, because in In some stages of the illness he had moments little clarity.

“I also ripped off the catheters I was wearing and did things that shouldn’t be done. They wanted to tie me to the bed. My family took turns staying close and checking on me. Then – he continued – I got better and the tests showed that I had one Lymphoma in the spleen area. It was treatable and in fact I recovered with the chemotherapy and medication they prescribed me. The tumor disappeared after 6 months of hospitalization and treatment. It was’nt easy. Initially, they told my daughters that if I didn’t take care of myself, I would be dead within 2 months,” concluded the conductor, earning the fans’ affection.
