For the second straight offseason, Alabama has brought in a veteran player from Georgia, this time a linebacker Trezman Marshall. The Peach State native, originally a member of the Class of 2019, announced his pledge to the Crimson Tide Thursday night.

“I want to start by thanking my Heavenly Father for all the blessings He has bestowed on me,” Marshall said in a post on his Instagram. “Without him I am nothing. Second, I want to thank my support system for being there for me through everything. Finally, I would like to thank Coach Smart, his staff, and the entire University of Georgia for supporting me over the past three years. It was an incredible experience and I am grateful for the lifelong memories and the brotherhood I was a part of during my time here at UGA. With this in mind, I am announcing my transfer to the University of Alabama.”

Marshall played in 14 of Georgia’s 15 games this season, recording 19 tackles, 4.5 tackles for losses, one sack, one pass breakup, one quarterback rush and one interception. He missed the second half of the 2021 UGA season after suffering a knee injury. He played in various roles in both the 2019 and 20 seasons.

Marshall chose to join the Bulldogs over the Crimson Tide during his career prep recruiting, but often spoke highly of UA.

He joins an inside linebacker room consisting of Deontae Lawson, Kendrick Blackshire, Shawn Murphy, Jihaad Campbell and Ian Jackson. The Tide also added Justin Jefferson to the Class of 2023 from the junior college ranks.
