George RR Martin wasn’t really involved in the last four seasons of Game of Thrones

George RR Martin revealed in a new interview with The New York Times that he wasn’t actually involved in the making of the film final seasons of Game of Thrones.

The fantasy series writer said, “By season 5 and 6, and even more so in season 7 and 8, I was practically out of the game.” When asked why he was ousted from the show, Martin replied, “I don’t know, you should ask Dan [Weiss] and David [Benioff ]”.

This is a clear difference from the first seasons During this time, Martin acted as a consultant and worked on various aspects of Game of Thrones, from script to casting. The report said David Benioff and DB Weiss declined to comment.

We’re sure many novel lovers felt that Martin’s presence waned in the later seasons of Game of Thrones. In the past, however, Martin has claimed to have been “involved in talks” related to the finale of the show.

“I do not think that End of Dan and Dave it’s going to be very different from mine, given the conversations we’ve had,” he said. “But you might have ideas about some supporting characters, there might be big differences. There’s no way to go into all the details, all the supporting characters, all the supporting characters.”

At least we know that Martin worked on the prequel, house of the dragon. The author has already seen the full product and also given us his opinion on it.
