George Clooney was the picture of confidence when she arrived at the 20th Anniversary of Jimmy Kimmel Live at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood on Friday.

The 61-year-old actor appeared on the very first episode of the late-night show in 2003 alongside rapper Snoop Dogg, NFL star Warren Sapp and musical guest Coldplay.

To mark his return, Clooney rocked a stylish navy blue suit that was immaculately tailored to his 5ft 11in frame.

He left his tie at home, and his salt-and-pepper hair and beard were well groomed for taping.

Clooney strolled to the stage door in shiny leather shoes with a bodyguard and members of his entourage in tow.

Before stepping in, the humble star took time to sign a series of autographs for fans waiting in the wings.

Clooney stopped by Kimmel in 2003 to promote his film Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, which also stars Sam Rockwell and Julia Roberts.

Clooney famously poured himself, Kimmel and Snoop Dogg vodka drinks while sitting side by side in leather chairs.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind was published on December 31, 2002. The film, written by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind author Charlie Kaufman, holds a 79% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Shortly after its premiere, The Hollywood Reporter panned Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night debut, with one reviewer saying it “started looking like beer commercials, with guest after guest smiling and shaking hands and saying absolutely nothing of importance.” .

Despite early negative reviews, Jimmy Kimmel Live has since won three Emmys out of 35 nominations, according to the Emmys website.

Clooney’s appearance at the event marked a rare day off from directing for the Up in the Air star.
