Indonesia, a country in Southeast Asia with the fourth largest population in the world, announced this week the approval of 11 more Brazilian slaughterhouses, including two from Rondônia, Frigon de Jaru and Marfrig de Chupinguaia.
Currently, 9 Brazilian slaughterhouses export to this country, which is considered a promising consumer of Brazilian meat. Last year he bought 20,500 tons of beef, a 23.5% increase from 2021.
Among the 20 countries that import the most meat from Brazil, six have Muslimmajority populations: Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Jordan and Malaysia.
According to Agrifatto, the news impacted live cattle futures prices, which rose on Wednesday on the B3 and continue to rise in trade this Thursday (19/01) right after rumors about the new unit qualifications were spread.
The announcement sparked a positive reaction in the beef market. The Brazilian Association of Refrigerators (Abrafrigo), on the other hand, said it had not received any official statement from MAPA.
