“This is an extremely difficult day for all of us who have worked closely with Alan, and we are heartbroken,” Fox News Media CEO and Fox News Media news president Suzanne Scott and Jay Wallace said in a statement.

“Alan was a leader and mentor at Fox News Media who was an integral part of our day-to-day news operations and played an indispensable role in every election cycle.

“The recent midterm coverage of the election was by far one of the best special coverage nights he has produced in his entire career.

“And he was the ultimate producer: breaking news, politics, special events, there was no more reliable or trusted colleague to be in the control room with during the most momentous events of our time, and his acuity and passion for news made our jobs better.” ‘

Alan was a proud Fox News original, having joined the network right out of college.

“He joked that he was a ‘real Brooklyn’ guy and rose through the ranks to become a writer, producer, showrunner and eventually senior vice president of news & politics who oversaw all political reporting,” Scott wrote and Wallace.

“His keen sense of humor and quick wit throughout his incredible career also led to the many lifelong friendships he has formed here.”

According to a GoFundMe set up for the Komissaroff family, the 47-year-old had been working out at home on Jan. 8 when he went upstairs and told his wife, Rachael, that he was “not feeling well.”

She called 911, but Alan’s heart stopped while paramedics took him to the hospital, after which he slipped into a coma and never regained consciousness, the site said.

“Alan was the rock of the family. Having spent decades as a television producer in New York, he loved his job but he loved his wife and children so much more,” reads the description.
