At least four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli army operation in Jenin, West Bank, on Wednesday. According to Palestinian sources, Israeli soldiers surrounded the family home of an assassin who shot dead three people in a Tel Aviv bar in April. There should have been an exchange of fire. Four Palestinians were killed and more than 40 wounded.

According to Palestinian sources, the assassin’s brother was killed in the operation. Video footage of the scene showed thick smoke rising over rooftops.

The Israeli army said the aim of the operation was to arrest two suspects who had recently been involved in firearm attacks. During the operation, an explosive device exploded in the fenced house. The suspects shot at the soldiers, who retaliated. Both were killed, including the killer’s brother, the military confirmed.

Three men were killed in an attack on Tel Aviv’s busy Dizengoff Street in April. Five other people were injured when the attacker shot at bar patrons. The killer, a 28-year-old Palestinian from Jenin, was shot dead by security forces after hours of searching. Since a wave of terror in Israel in the spring, the Israeli army has been carrying out increasing attacks in the occupied West Bank.
