The Six Days, Seven Nights star was involved in a car accident on Friday in which his Mini Clubman car slammed into a house in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles at full speed, starting a fire at the property. A representative initially said she was being treated in hospital for her burns and was in stable condition.

However, another representative revealed in a statement Monday that she has indeed been in critical condition and a coma since the accident. “Over the weekend, a representative said Anne was in stable condition, but that information was inaccurate. She remained in critical condition and fell into a coma after the accident, a spokesman told multiple media outlets. She has a serious lung injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgery. She is currently being treated at the Grossman Burn Center. »

Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to CNN on Monday that the 53-year-old star is under investigation for drunk driving and hit-and-run. Investigators received a search warrant to draw blood from the actress on the day of the incident and are awaiting the results. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be escalated to the LA City Attorney’s Office.

Video footage obtained by TMZ appears to show Anne Heche’s vehicle crashing into an apartment complex garage before reversing and driving off. This incident is said to have occurred shortly before the second accident.

Since the accident, Alec Baldwin and Peter Facinelli have publicly expressed their wishes for a recovery. Peter Facinelli, who starred alongside him in 13 Minutes, wrote on his Instagram Stories: “Praying for you and your beautiful family.”
