  • Tesla employees share their experiences of racism at the company.
  • Tesla has filed a lawsuit against her for operating a “racially segregated workplace.”
  • The company has already been sued for racism.

Former Tesla employees have shared their shocking experiences of racism at the company, The Verge reported.

The Los Angeles Times interviewed three former Tesla employees. The interview took place in connection with the court case the company is currently facing. Tesla was sued by a civil rights agency for operating a “racially segregated workplace.”

Although all workers have their own stories and unique experiences, the themes have been found to be quite similar.

For example, two former employees shared that they were blacklisted after reporting racist behavior. Some of them reported being asked to do more work than a single man could do.

One employee shared that although the harassment stopped after she reported it to Human Resources, months later she found that she did not receive a performance review, raise or promotion.

“They waited for me to make a mistake,” she said.

Several other workers shared the same feelings.

The tech giant’s lawyers have denied all claims and allegations. However, the company has a history of this problem.

Earlier, a jury in California ordered Tesla to pay a worker $137 million after failing to take action on the racism he reported. Another employee had to be paid $1 million when his manager called him the N-word.
