FLIP Fabrique: a very dynamic recreation

Touring the parks of six boroughs of Quebec, FLIP Fabrique is reaching out to the people with a brand new show called interruption. A small colorful and dynamic bubble of about 30 minutes in which we will find all the DNA of the circus troupe that celebrates its 10th birthdaye Anniversary.

FLIP Fabrique kicked off last week at the Domaine de Maizerets, a series of 46 performances offered free of charge until September 4th.

This premiere, which took place on a wonderful day under a bright blue sky and with many families on the lawn, was well attended.

Directed by Olivier Normand, who signed the show Féria – L’attraction in Parc Jean-Béliveau, Récréation begins with a bell that rings, signaling the end of the lesson.

A tiered structure that represents a condensed version of a gymnasium with a basketball hoop, playing surface, climbing wall and storage space is the base on which the eight artists of the Quebec troupe develop.

Gym noises can be heard and chairs are thrown. A student with a unicorn head is on the roof of the building. The break has started.

Spectacular pirouettes

We dance, we jump rope, we pirouette to electro-pop music by Josué Beaucage, with the voice of Sensei H. Tori Boggs performs some very spectacular pirouettes on the skipping rope. We integrate elements from boxing and basketball.

A signature element of FLIP Fabrique, the tramp wall is very present throughout the show, bringing good aerial segments. At the top of the structure, Justine Musseau defies the laws of gravity with a balancing act and contortionist.

The performers then perform on the Korean panel before the bell rings again at the end of intermission.

The new FLIP Fabrique adventure is a different show from those shown in the past at the Agora and Place Jean-Béliveau. The more compact infrastructures must be detachable and easily transportable from park to park.

The idea with this City of Quebec funded edition is to revitalize and energize the neighborhoods of Quebec City. The result is a very nice little bag show “à la FLIP Fabrique”.

Récréation will be presented on August 13, 14 and 15 at the Parc de la Commune in the Charlesbourg district. The tour continues at Parc Jules-Émond (17th and 18th August), Maison O’Neil (19th, 20th and 22nd August), Parc des Écores (24th and 25th August), Kiwanis Park (26th and 26th August) . to August 28) and at Place Jean-Béliveau (August 31 to September 4). Shows are at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

♦ The show will be shown rain or shine, unless there is strong wind or a thunderstorm. All information is online at flipfabrique.com.
