Police in California are responding to a shooting that took place during Lunar New Year celebrations at the Monterey Park carnival in the Los Angeles area, in which an unknown number of people were injured. This was announced by the police themselves, quoted by the BBC, without adding any further details. Filming began at 10 p.m. local time (7 a.m. Italian).
According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, the shooting in Monterey Park near the California metropolis also killed one of the crowds attending the Lunar New Year celebrations. The newspaper did not name the number of victims and claims to have learned about the dead by listening to the frequencies of the police radio who responded at the scene.
