Ferrari recalls 23,000 models due to possible brake failure

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently issued a recall affecting 23,555 Ferrari models. The problem is related to a possible leakage of brake fluid, which can lead to a partial or total loss of braking ability.

This recall affects a number of models produced between 2005 and today. Among the vehicles affected we find the F60 America (special edition of 10 copies) and the famous LaFerrari, among others. (full list below)

The repair involves replacing the brake fluid reservoir cap and updating the affected vehicle’s software to provide a different warning should the car lose a certain amount of brake fluid.

Note, however, that these are American models. However, there is a good chance that Transport Canada will issue a bulletin for models marketed in Canada within the next few weeks.

Owners of cars affected by this recall will receive a notification telling them how to proceed with the repair.
