Fedez announces the outcome of a lawsuit filed by codacons on his Instagram profile. “First of all – says the rapper – he sentenced her to compensation for court costs, 20,000 euros. The Court of Justice of Rome has rejected the claim for damages brought by Codacons in a civil case against the singer, who is accused by the association of defaming her through a series of statements on social media.
Codacons also promptly commented on the sentence: “As always, Codacons respects the decisions of the judiciary, not only when they are favorable for their judicial measures”, the association’s position. This sentence “makes even clearer the need for urgent action, as also called for in a recent parliamentary question, to ensure a unified assessment of the issue of defamation, to prevent celebrities such as Fedez from being freely insulted and the neighbors with impunity as the court sees as “accustomed to provocations” while the Codacons (perhaps because they are considered more serious than Fedez?) are accused of having defined the rapper as a “pacifier”.
Precisely for this reason, concludes Codacons, “we will appeal against the judgment of the Court of Rome and, if Codacons’ judgment on the reimbursement of legal costs is upheld, we will ask Fedez to donate the amount to charity. “
