Cyril Chauquet continues his search for the planet’s “last giants” in the second season of his eponymous series, which begins Tuesday, February 28th on the Évasion antenna.
Surrounded by a gang of experts, the French animator shows courage – or madness, depending on your opinion – and ventures into Last Giants.
Standing waist-deep in the water, surrounded by piranhas and caimans, the boys set out in search of a giant freshwater stingray, which the production describes as “a huge fish that towers over reach.” Food from the wild and marshy area of the Esteros del Ibera”.
In the jungles of Nicaragua, where danger lurks once again, they set out to get their hands on “the legendary tarpon, a predator on steroids.”
Then they go to sea, to the Marquesas Islands, to French Polynesia, one of the most remote archipelagos from the mainland. They are then in search of the ignobilis trevally, a “fish that rules coral reefs” while rubbing shoulders with “several of the most dangerous shark species” on the planet.
In short, these aren’t small quiet expeditions offered by Cyril Chauquet, 47, and the series also brings viewers plenty – strong – emotions, including a good dose of suspense, through these sport fishing expeditions.
Tuesdays at Cyril’s starting February 28th
Note that Évasion will air another show with Cyril Chauquet, “Mordu de la pêche”, every Tuesday starting February 28, starting at 9 p.m., shortly after the second season of “Last Giants 2”. The channel of the TVA Group has christened this segment of its program “Tuesdays at Cyril’s” with two dates presented one after the other.
