For his 11the For its 20th edition, the Quebec City Film Festival presents an all-Quebec vintage with around a hundred films presented at the Diamant, the Impérial Bell, the Musée de la Civilization and the brand new Circuit Beaumont Hall.

During this event, which runs from 8th to 11th September, Le Diamant will host three major red carpet world premiere nights.

The previously announced dramatic comedy Niagara by Guillaume Lambert kicks off this 11th installment.

In the same place, on September 9th, Martin Villeneuve will present his feature film Les 12 travaux d’Imelda, in which he plays the leading role, along with Robert Lepage, Ginette Reno, Antoine Bertrand, Anne-Marie Cadieux, Lynda Beaulieu, Yves Jacques, Denis Villeneuve and Michel Barrette.

This project follows a series of three short films released since 2014, inspired by the larger-than-life figure of Martin Villeneuve’s paternal grandmother.

Also in the Diamant, on September 10th, we will see the world premiere of Snow Angel, Gabriel Allard’s first feature film, in its world premiere. Catherine Bérubé, Paul Doucet, Olivier Renaud, Kimberly-Sue Murray and Alexandre Nachi star in this psychological thriller.

Snow Angel, filmed at Chic-Chocs in Gaspésie, tells the story of an American ex-professional snowboarder who, after a fatal alcohol accident, wants to take control of her life but has to face dark forces.

About forty events will be presented during the 11th edition of the Quebec City Film Festival after a year of absence due to the pandemic.

In the world of Denis Côté

On September 9th, the festival presents a meeting with the author, director and actress Marie Brassard, who has collaborated with filmmakers Denis Villeneuve, Denis Côté, Philippe Falardeau, Stéphane Lafleur, Luc Picard, Sophie Deraspe, Monia Chokri, Matthew Rankin and Robert Lepage Has .

We’ll be presenting festive events at the Impérial Belle, including crazy shows and a panel with the craftsmen of Edouard Tremblay’s fantastic film Farador.

Cinephiles can immerse themselves in Denis Côté’s filmography with the presentation of his restored short films Hygiène sociale and the drama Vic + Flo vu ont un ours.

The Musée de la Civilization and the new room of the Circuit Beaumont, located in the premises of the Méduse cooperative, present two world premieres with the dance film Parades by the choreographer Alan Lake and Le milieu de garage by the young filmmaker Lisa Bolduc.
