Media concentration affects democracy says Atilio Boron

Expectations are growing about visits to Fitur this weekend

After a five-day technical program, the meeting rooms will be packed with the general public eager to learn more about the proposals and travel recovery plans after the severe impact of Covid-19.

The fair opens its doors to the majority this weekend with normality brands, without controls or masks, and with an offer that combines its classic attractions with the goals of an industry geared towards digitization and sustainability.

Film sets, walks under and with the stars, greetings to the sun, gastronomic tastings and Spanish music icons are just some of the claims of an edition dedicated more than ever to segmented quality tourism and the technology that is on the rise in brochures.

Fitur knows how to take advantage of its more formal aspect, aimed at professionals in the sector, while consolidating itself as a leisure plan for whole families.

In this 43rd edition, the destinations have used all their artillery to attract the youngest with simulators, artificial intelligence and entertainment.

Just over a week before hosting the Spanish pre-selection for Eurovision 2023, Benidorm is having the Mirador de la Música recreated at the fair, inaugurated last July and located, for example, at the end of its mythical Poniente beach.

For their part, sports enthusiasts have a must-have with the World Cup in its replica version.

Another attraction is the booth of Japan with presentations of its martial art, Shorinji Kempo, and South Korea will have activities for taekwondo devotees.

In terms of shopping, the fair showcases an immense range of options, along with selfie options in places like Istanbul, which boasts 53 Michelin Guide restaurants and hosts the Champions League final, to which digital cartoons in Israel are added, or the Iberia flight simulator.

In addition, there are the bazaars of Niger, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Mauritania and raffles of all kinds, which will characterize the public visit on Saturday and Sunday.
