In 1991, 22-year-old Jennifer was attempting to pursue a career as a professional dancer, but had not released music or acted in a film at the time.

Looking back on their first encounter, Samantha said, “I was auditioning women for my video when I broke America with my number one album.

“And then I had to look for dancers for my tour. And she walked in and I said, “Oh, she’s very nice,” like you do. And I chose her.’

Samantha and Linda tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Essex in July, after announcing their engagement in March 2020.

When asked about married life, she gushed, “It’s fabulous. This June we have… last June… oh my god. We got married last June.

“We waited three times because of COVID and finally it happened. It was absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t ask for anything better.

“I’m the happiest woman in the world. Yeah, and I hope it lasts for um, you know, like 60, 70, yeah, why not?’

Samantha also spoke about how her upcoming album will be inspired by the love of her life.

She said: “Next year I got a great album with Ian Masterson who did a lot of songs for Britney and Kylie. I just went to ultra-pop this time and made some great records.

“My music is all about the last five years of my life, what I’ve been through, how I met my wife and on and up and positivity and being who you want to be.

Sam began dating Linda in 2016 and previously said she was in a “really good place” after Myra, her partner of 12, died of cancer in 2015.

Samantha recently told OK! Magazine that after postponing their first wedding due to the Covid pandemic, they planned to wait so their loved ones from around the world could attend.

During the interview, Sam revealed that her “amazing pal” Motörhead lead singer Lemmy – who died in 2015 – offered to step in and walk her down the aisle after her father died.

Sam’s father Patrick, who guided her career until 1991, died in 2000.
