Matthew McConaughey showed off his movie star muscles during a family holiday in Greece… days after he called for gun control measures following a school massacre in his hometown of Uvalde.
The 52-year-old Hollywood star was spotted in the Greek sunshine accompanied by his Brazilian model and designer wife Camila Alves, 40.
McConaughey, who rose to fame as the thinking woman’s hunk in the 1990s, showed off his enviable physique in a pair of red shorts.
Camila donned a royal blue swimsuit and goggles to indulge in some cliff jumps, while McConaughey once adjusted his wife’s swimsuit.
He was seen frolicking on a peaceful Greek cliff with his wife Camila, the couple were also joined by their 12-year-old twins Levi and Vida and their nine-year-old son Livingston.
The sun break comes a week after McConaughey lobbied senators on Capitol Hill and joined press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in calling for gun control legislation.
On the podium, McConaughey recalled hugging his children even tighter after learning of a massacre in his hometown of Uvalde that killed 19 children and two teachers at a primary school.
McConaughey and Alves visited Uvalde after the tragedy and the actor spent time with Uvalde School District staff.

After the Ulvade elementary school shooting, McConaughey called for “gun responsibility” but not “control.” He visited his hometown to meet with the families of the victims.
In early June, McConaughey and Alves established a Uvalde Relief Fund as part of their Just Keep Livin’ Foundation.
He also spoke about gun reform with Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin, who tweeted photos and details from his meeting with the actor.
In a deeply personal 22-minute speech last week, McConaughey urged Congress to pass gun reforms that can save lives without violating Second Amendment rights.
McConaughey, himself a gun owner, used his star power to make the case, making a clear connection to the small Texas town and the sheer loss of the 19 children and two teachers in the second worst mass school shooting in US history vividly described.
The couple headed to the beach alongside their three children, 12-year-old twins Levi and Vida, and 9-year-old son Livingston.

McConaughey also wrote an op-ed calling for changes in the law to protect children.
“I am a father, son of a kindergarten teacher and American. I was also born in Uvalde, Texas,” McConaughey previously wrote in an article published in the Austin American Statesman, “that’s why I’m writing this.”
“I believe that responsible, law-abiding Americans have the Second Amendment right, enshrined by our founders, to bear arms.”
“I also believe we have a cultural obligation to take steps to slow down the senseless killing of our children.”
McConaughey’s mother Kay, who turned 90 in January and was living with her son during the pandemic, was a teacher at St Philip’s Episcopal School in Uvalde.
Her school, which McConaughey attended, is only a mile from Robb Elementary, where the tragedy occurred.
McConaughey specifically asked Congress to increase background checks on gun purchases and raise the minimum age to purchase an AR-15 rifle from 18 to 21.
“We want safe schools and gun laws that don’t make it easy for the bad guys to get the damn guns,” McConaughey said.

McConaughey, who considered running for Texas governor earlier this year before accepting a passport, met briefly privately with President Joe Biden before speaking from James Brady’s briefing room to the White House press corps.
McConaughey and his wife Camila were also spotted dining with Manchin and fellow senators Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat, and Rob Portman, a Republican from Ohio, at chic Italian restaurant Fiola Mare.
On Sunday, the Senate announced the framework for a bipartisan response to last month’s mass shooting, a notable breakthrough that offers modest gun restrictions and increased efforts to improve school safety and mental health programs.
McConaughey celebrated the frame.
“For the first time in 30 years, ‘something’ has happened. The Senate has agreed on a bipartisan framework of policies that can strengthen gun stewardship in America and save lives,” McConaughey shared on Instagram.
”’Something” has been done to stop some of the insane who are abusing and kidnapping the Second Amendment with every horrific act.’
McConaughey thanked the bipartisan committee of senators for designing the framework that he believes could potentially save the lives of innocent people.

McConaughey thanked the bipartisan committee of senators for drafting the framework that he believes could potentially save innocent lives
He highlighted the initiative of Republican senators to work with Democrats to find a middle ground on the highly politicized gun control issue
The actor said he’s confident the joint effort will resonate in the House of Representatives.
“There is still a lot of hard work for both parties to do, so let’s continue to encourage everyone around the table to act in good faith and give them our support to get this work done.”
Biden said in a statement that the framework “doesn’t do everything I think is needed, but it reflects important steps in the right direction and would be the most significant gun safety legislation passed by Congress in decades.”
