Jason Gardiner has revealed he was conceived after his biological mother was raped when he was 13.
The former Dancing On Ice judge, 51, was adopted by his aunt when he was six months old but didn’t find out the truth about his parentage until he was an adult.
He explained that his adoptive mother flew to London from Australia when he was 30 to tell him the shocking truth.

Speaking on Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast, Jason recalled, “I was with Cats in the West End at the time, so I was exhausted, and my mom rocks up unannounced and says, ‘Right, we need to talk about your adoption.’
“And I was like, ‘What on earth caused all this?’
“And then she told me the shocking truth that she really was my aunt and that her younger sister is my birth mother, but that she was raped when she was 13.”
Jason has gotten candid about his relationship with his birth mother these days, admitting, “It’s strained.

“I think I have to remind her so much of that incident, she’s been through a lot of trauma.
“The only photo I have as a newborn is of her holding me at 14, having just had me.
“And the look of horror on her face says it all. I mean it’s heartbreaking.’
He reflected, “You know, you don’t want to be born like this, but I have to make peace with it, and I think I have.”
The revelation comes after Jason claimed he’s been through “some very dark times” since being axed from Dancing On Ice.
The choreographer left the show five years ago after a series in which he clashed with contestant Gemma Collins.
Jason told The Sun on Saturday: “The show ended up being too toxic. I went through some very dark times after it all played out.
“And I realized that I was not valued by ITV in any way, shape or form.”

The drama between Jason and Gemma played out in the 2019 series when they went at each other’s throats during the criticism.
As he left, Gemma remarked, “Hallelujah!” and let Jason cook.
