Every day a woman drives 800 kilometers to get to work in a different city: "suits me better" Mysteries of the world

Giuseppina Giuliano is a young Italian who always gets up at 4am to catch the train from Naples, where she lives, to Milan, where she works at a school. She considered renting rooms and houses to make the move easier, but that would be too expensive for her, so she adapted to the routine.

Giuseppina Giuliano is a 29yearold woman who knows what sacrifice means. Every day she drives 800 kilometers from Naples, her city, to Milan to work as a school manager at the Boccioni High School of Art. The journey is exhausting, but despite this, Giuseppina never loses her smile.

“I know it sounds crazy, but doing the math I came to the conclusion that it was better for me financially. Of course, this costs me a lot of sacrifices, considering that I take the “bullet train” to Milan at 5 a.m. every morning, including Saturdays.

It’s been less than a year since Giuseppina found her job in Milan, so she planned to find a house in that city to facilitate her travel, but since her salary is 1,165 euros (6,500 reais), that’s not enough the end. “I’ve noticed that it’s easier to find a needle in a haystack in Milan now,” she told the broadcaster.

And although it may seem tiring to travel from one city to another every day, it is more convenient for them. “I realized that between rent, bills and expenses, if I had moved north I would have spent my entire salary and most likely would have had to ask my family for financial help as well. On the other hand, by continuing to live in Naples, I’ve also saved some money,” he explained to Il Giorno.

Giuseppina had also considered renting a room in Milan, but they are still as expensive as a house, around 650 euros. So she has no choice but to drive to work every day and come home to her parents, grandma and puppies.

“For the return trip, I take the train from Milan at 18:20 and arrive in Naples at 22:53, provided there are no delays. So I expect to be home by 11:30pm. However, in the morning I get up at 4 am because it takes me half an hour to get to the train station, where I take the Frecciarossa train, which leaves Naples at 5:09 am and arrives in Milan at 9:24 am. Then I take public transport and arrive at the school where I work from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. When I’m done with work, I go to the supermarket to buy something for dinner, which of course I’ll eat on the train,” he told the local newspaper.

Giuseppina’s routine is tiring, but she thinks the savings she makes make it worth it. As a frequent flyer on the train, she collects discount points, which keeps costs down. She guarantees tickets in advance so the train costs around 400 euros a month, much cheaper than staying and living in Milan where the cost of living is very high.

While the daily commute can feel overwhelming, Giuseppina takes the opportunity to work and save money in Milan. She knows that it is necessary to sacrifice some things in order to achieve her goals and she is willing to do that. She approaches her everyday life with determination and dedication and never loses her smile.
