Died of thirst And hunger to imitate the fasting of Jesus in the desert, told of the gospels. It is the dramatic fate of one shepherd of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in Mozambique, who died after 25 days without food or water.

He dies of thirst and hunger to imitate Jesus’ 40-day fast
He was summoned Francisco Barajawas 39 years old and was the founder of the Evangelical Church of Santa Trindade. He died in a hospital in the capital on Wednesday Mozambique, Beira, as reported by the BBC. When he was rescued and taken to the hospital, he was diagnosed with acute anemia.
RESCUE
He was taken to the hospital after family members and his followers noticed the pastor had clear signs of dehydration. Staff at Central da Beria Hospital tried to feed him and give him water, but his organs were in such condition that he could not swallow anything without feeling pain. Barajah had also lost so much weight that he could not even stand.
HOW DID HE RESIST
It is unclear how Barajah managed to survive 25 days without water. The Guinness World Record for the longest time a person has survived without food and water is 18 days, an unintentional “record” set when an Austrian teenager was locked in a holding cell and “forgotten” by police in 1979 . The Bible also does not explicitly state whether Jesus abstained from water during his 40-day fast. In their accounts of the “temptation of Christ,” the Gospels of Matthew and Luke say that Christ was “hungry” and “ate not.”
