EU Parliament wants Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on EU terrorist list

The European Parliament called for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to be included on the EU terrorist list. “In view of their terrorist activities, the repression of protesters and the delivery of drones to Russia”, the EU should put the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the EU terrorist list, a majority of MEPs demanded on Wednesday.

Symbolic character only

The demand is contained in a legally non-binding resolution and is symbolic in nature. be included in the EU terrorist list.

Iran has been protesting the leadership in Tehran for months. The trigger was the death of young Kurd Mahsa Amini on 16 September. Amini was arrested by the moral police because she allegedly wore the headscarf inappropriately. She died a short time later in a hospital. Activists accuse authorities of mistreating Amini.
