The Seattle Seahawks ended their regular season on a high, but it wasn’t confirmed until 8:22 p.m. PT that they would be in the playoffs. A heroic win by the Detroit Lions, who were knocked out by the Seahawks’ victory earlier in the afternoon, sent the Green Bay Packers into their own arena and propelled Seattle into the postseason. That means we get a double dose of enemy reaction!
Here’s the deal: There’s not much I can do if Rams fans don’t even hit 400 combined comments on the Turf Show Times game thread. So we’re going to give them a reprieve and instead focus on Pride of Detroit, which this week will feature the good and bad sides of Enemy Reaction in a special two-part series.
Today they get the bad side where they’re upset that the Rams didn’t KO the Seahawks and gave themselves a shot at making the playoffs. Then tomorrow it’s an outsized enemy reaction looking back at Lions-Packers, with cheers from Lions and Seahawks fans alike, plus the scathing reaction from Packers fans. Oh yes, and you get bonus celebrations within the NFC North, a division that collectively despises Green Bay.
Geno Smith was intercepted by Jalen Ramsey on the first play of the game, resulting in Rams field goal (3-0LAR)

Geno Smith almost voted again but pass is dropped (6-6)
Tutu Atwell scores with an end-around (13-6LAR)

Geno writes back to Tyler Lockett with a touchdown pass (13-13)

Jalen Ramsey gets Geno Smith for the second time (16-13 LAR)

When you walk into the punter, Seattle Drive lengthens (16-13 LAR)

Rams stuff Kenneth Walker III (16-13 LAR)

Huge run by Geno Smith, personal foul penalty on Jalen Ramsey puts Seattle within field goal range (16-16)
DOINK! But the bad kind of Jason Myers (16-16)
Quandre Diggs takes out Baker Mayfield (16-16)

Jason Myers wins! (19-16 SEA OT Finals)

There’s your appetizer. In the end, there are plenty of referee complaints from Lions fans, but it’s the heat of the moment that any fan base is susceptible to (some more than others). I’m pretty sure I can guess how Seahawks fans were on this side when the Packers got some positive calls against the Lions. Coming Tuesday is perhaps the biggest enemy reaction for a non-Seahawks game we’ve ever had. Lions fans will want to read this!
Thanks for reading and let’s go Hawks!
