SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Even before LeBron James and other NBA superstars showed up in Salt Lake City, the All-Star Weekend was already turning heads with its red carpet and celebrity game.

Among many others, actor Ben Affleck, skier Lindsey Vonn and baseball legend Albert Pujols marched. Incidentally, while he was in Utah to promote his upcoming movie Air, Affleck took part in hosting the show at the Celebrity Game while Vonn was part of the coaching staff. As for Pujols, on the pitch he had an opportunity to show his talent in a sport other than his own.
It was NFL player DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks who won the Celebrity Game MVP award after scoring 20 points, including a superb passing dunk, in his team’s 81-78 win. Wrestler The Miz nearly stole the show with a shot from midfield but shortly after the buzzer ended the match.
The imposing Shaquille O’Neal, former NBA star, was also in attendance to watch Friday’s fun gathering at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
The daughter of Delino DeShields
Among the celebrities on the red carpet, Le Journal caught up with basketball player Diamond DeShields, daughter of Delino, a former Montreal Expos player.
“It’s cool to be here, nice to have the opportunity to play in this celebrity game,” said Diamond DeShields. My father has always supported me and has always been a loving father. I also know that he enjoyed his time in Montreal as it was the first team he played for in Major League Baseball.
