Emmerdale’s hunky newcomer Nicky turned down Gabby’s advances on Tuesday’s show after she leaned in for a kiss.
And in the coming scenes, the scruffy nanny will confess that he has feelings for the brunette but they can’t be together as it might jeopardize his job.
In the episodes, which will air next week, Nicky admits he can’t have sex with the young mum despite their chemistry, with actor Lewis Cope admitting there could be “problems” if the two get together.

Nicky first caught Gabby’s eye when he arrived in the village as a nanny for Clemmie and Lucas, but soon learned his services were no longer needed when Dawn (Olivia Bromley) decided she wasn’t suitable for Kim Tate (Claire King). wanted to work.

Of the story, Lewis told Metro, “Possibly there could be a problem at Home Farm if they get together. Nicky is kind of focused on his job and thinks – we shouldn’t be doing this and backs away from it.
Co-star Rosie agrees the couple is a good match, adding, “They both like each other, it’s very obvious.
“I think the audience will goad them, to be honest, because you see two young people who are into each other, it’s very obvious what they want from it. But whether they get it or not, who knows?’
However, Lewis has already warned that Nicky has a darker side that viewers may see in the coming weeks.
He said last month: “Right now he’s a lovely person and there’s nothing else to say but he’s pretty much too good to be true.”
