The five-time Grammy winner went on to provide renditions of many of his hits including Philadelphia Freedom, I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues, Rocket Man, Candle In The Wind, Sad Songs (Say So Much), Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Crocodile Rock, Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

After kicking off in September 2018, the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which was to be John’s final trip around the world, was temporarily postponed following his show in Sydney, Australia on March 7, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The nearly two-year hiatus between shows was also due to John undergoing surgery on his injured hip after falling “onto a hard surface.”

Despite intensive physical therapy and specialist treatment, the pain continued to worsen, making it difficult for him to move and eventually prompting him to postpone the tour to 2022.

The tour eventually continued with a show at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on January 19 and toured parts of the United States through April 28 in Miami.

From then on, John and his band went on a three-week hiatus before re-emerging in Europe on May 21st with a show in Fornebu, Norway.

The European leg lasts until July 4th in Watford, England, and then John takes a short break before returning to the US, which begins July 15th in Philadelphia.

The tour will make its final stop in the United States on November 20 with a show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The five-year Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour is set to officially conclude on July 8, 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden.
