Eliminate bad smells in the house

Eliminate bad smells in the house

Baking soda is without a doubt a very effective product against odors. You can make your own home air freshener:

  • Dissolve 1ml (1/4 teaspoon) baking soda in 125ml (1/2 cup) hot water. Add a few drops of lemon juice and about ten drops of your favorite essential oil to this mixture. Pour the solution into a spray bottle to eliminate bad smells in the house.
  • For the bathroom, fill a glass bowl with baking soda. Add a few drops of an essential oil. Drop it in the room. If necessary, add 1 to 3 drops of essential oil after a few days to revitalize the mixture.
  • Baking soda sprinkled on the bottom of the trash can reduces bad smells in the kitchen.
  • If a reusable plastic lunch container is giving off a bad odor, put a spoonful of yellow mustard powder in it and add a cup of hot water. Shake the container and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing well.
  • If a bad smell persists in the microwave, heat a few spoonfuls of vanilla for a minute. Allow the vanilla to cool in the oven for an hour before removing.

  • Place a few cloves or a cinnamon stick on a piece of aluminum foil in an oven set to its lowest temperature. Add a few orange or lemon zests and leave the oven door open. In a short time, a pleasant scent moves into the house.

odors on hands

After handling fish, garlic, or food that smells like food, rub your hands with a slice of lemon or massage them with white vinegar. Use cold water as hot water retains odors.

You can get rid of most bad smells on your hands by lathering them up while holding an object or by touching the rim of the stainless steel sink. Stainless steel traps bad smells. Clever and efficient!
