Effort Blockade IPD does not award prizes to the Peruvian

Peruvian men’s volleyball returned to the podium of an international tournament after almost 20 years thanks to the team that finished third Bolivarian Games of Valledupar 2022after a 3-2 win against the Dominican Republic.

The good result was rewarded by the government through the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), which awarded 5,000 soles to the athletes who achieved the bronze medal. Today, however, the members of this team are checking in to make sure they haven’t received any money to date.

“They gave the award to the rest of the federations but not to us. At first they told us that the money was already there, that they had to validate account by account, but they’ve had us like this for a month,” Sebastián Blanco, a member of the team, told La República.

Blanco assured that he spoke to the director of the National Directorate of Sport and Partners (Dinadaf), who is in charge of the relevant deposits. “I spoke to Ms. Silvia Pérez, director of Dinadaf, on WhatsApp. She told me that the deposit was already made and that it would take a few days since it was an interbank. I persisted on the issue, arguing that it wouldn’t take that long, and he told me that a journalist who I found out through consultation that she works in Dinadaf’s press department would call me. I replied what does she have to do with our payment if it is not her responsibility and I also asked her if she plans to keep our money, after that she blocked me and from then on there is none at all communication,” he confessed.

The volleyball player confirmed this Peruvian Volleyball Federation It has nothing to do with the topic as they complied with sending the list with the names of the players and the corresponding dates. “I spoke to the secretary of the federation and she showed me the position which she sent to the IPD with the requested information, namely the names and accounts of the players as of July 24th. We don’t know what’s going on, making a deposit doesn’t take long. There are really people who need this money, the federation doesn’t give us anything, everyone pays for their expenses, they should take that into account,” he added.

The Republic sought out Silvia Pérez, the current director of Dinadaf, to find out their version of events. “I owe my work to athletes, but when you talk to someone you have to have a basic education. I explained to him that his payment was transferred ten days ago. What could have happened is that your account is new and if it is not with Banco de la Nación it takes time To it. Communication broke down and I felt that continuing to talk to him was not the ideal medium. When he got upset, maybe his youth makes him a little vehement, I moved away,” she explained, later revealing the reasons why she thought she delayed transferring the money to the player’s account.

“We make the turns based on the communication that the federation sends us. What if they send us a list of 12 players and the travel resolution says 10? One of them was him (Sebastián Blanco). We had to solve the administrative problem of the resolution, which took an inordinate five days, and that was the delay,” he concluded.
