The Dright Luc Boileau will be officially named director of public health for Quebec on Thursday, six months after he was asked to replace his predecessor, Dr.right Horacio Arruda.

The Council of Ministers confirmed on Wednesday that Dr. Boileau will officially assume the roles of deputy deputy minister at the Department of Health and Human Services and national director of public health.

Luc Boileau was temporarily appointed to these positions on January 12 to replace Dr. To replace Arruda, who surprised Quebec by announcing his retirement amid the Omicron wave of COVID-19.

At the time, Prime Minister François Legault was reluctant to place his trust in Dr. Arruda, later stating that after almost two years of the pandemic, a change in the way the government communicates is necessary.

Before taking on the role of national director of public health on an interim basis, Dr. Boileau head of the National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESS), which made recommendations throughout the pandemic.
