“A legendary duo”: This is how the Academy of Country Music Awards producer qualified the two artists who will host the 2023 gala on May 11: Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks.

The idea of reuniting this legendary duo for the first time has excited the team behind the annual country music party taking place May 11 at the Dallas Cowboys’ world headquarters.
“We’re really excited about this because we’ve always wanted to do something together,” Dolly Parton told Billboard.
“We’ve always admired each other musically and as people and the way we run our business,” added the 77-year-old singer. So it’s a big thrill for me. I think the fans will love to see us together because God knows he has fans and I have! »
The country diva, who was officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year, hosted the ACM Awards solo in 2000 and joined Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett last year, the first year the ceremony was on Prime video was broadcast. For Garth Brooks, it will be a great first for the show’s animation.
The two Brooks artists both have extensive experience as ACM Award winners. Dolly Parton won 13 ACM Awards in 1977, including Artist of the Year. Garth Brooks has won 22 ACM awards, including a record six trophies for Artist of the Year, and was named ACM Entertainer of the Decade in the ’90s.
Should no musical collaboration between the two stars be planned during the ACM Awards, Dolly Parton will take the opportunity to present the first excerpt from her upcoming rock album.
