Dental tourism: "I just want to get rid of this pain"the hell of a young belgian operating in turkey midi libre

This is the story of a dream turning into a nightmare. From the fantasy of the perfect smile to the constant pain she is currently suffering from, a young Belgian tells of her dental surgery in Turkey.

She dreamed of beautiful teeth. His everyday life has become hell. Alana Boone, a 23-year-old Belgian who left for Turkey in July 2021, paid the high price of bank tourism. She tells her story for the Flemish medium Nieuwsblad.

“All I wanted was nice teeth,” she says, according to Capital in the preamble, which also tells her story. “A friend of my mother introduced me to this woman. I was able to get completely new teeth in Turkey for 6,720 euros, flight and hotel included. She fixed everything.”

File teeth “down to just tips”.

Convinced by the various positive opinions left on social networks about the Belgian company specializing in dental tourism that has to manage its operations, Alana Boone took off last summer and dreamed of a perfect smile in her head.

On the spot, however, she quickly becomes disillusioned. She first had her teeth ground “until only the tips were left” before having 18 teeth removed because of pain, for a further 3,420 euros in cash.

nightmare and complaint

Once her crowns are in place, she will return to Belgium without anesthetic. The beginning of a real “nightmare”. When everyone tells her she has “nice teeth,” her pain doesn’t go away. Whether she eats or drinks, her suffering is at its maximum.

“I have filed a complaint against the people responsible, Alana Boone told our colleagues. I want my money back. I will destroy the evidence.”

Be that as it may, the young woman, who refuses to return to Turkey, would have to pay 27,000 euros to redo everything in Belgium. A sum that, in their opinion, is impossible to pay.
