The unwilling protagonist of the story is Deborah Dorbert, her husband’s name is Lee and they already have another child, Kaiden: Deborah was expecting their second child, but the fetus was diagnosed with a fatal condition known as Potter Syndrome.

Deborah and her husband were also unable to travel to another state with fewer restrictions due to the high costs. “I’m really angry that politicians are deciding what’s best for my health. We would have done anything to have this baby,” the young mother told the Washington Post.
