Despite the fact that the Professional Soccer League announced a few minutes ago that it is offering guarantees for the first date of League 1 2023 this weekend, an official letter from the Sports Safety Directorate of the Peruvian Institute of Sports (IPD) has been released. in which he called for the cancellation of all sporting events nationwide between January 17 and 23.
In this way, the 1st matchday of the inaugural tournament 2023, which started this Saturday, January 21st, cannot be played due to possible demonstrations that could arise in the different regions of the country during these days.
“This Sports Safety Directorate (DISEDE-IPD), in accordance with the provisions of the reference standard art. 18 paragraph 18.1, provides for the CANCELLING, at national level, of sporting events planned and/or authorized between January 17 to 23, 2023, in order to prevent risks and to avoid that affect the safety and physical integrity of people, ”the last part of the document says.
