She was portrayed by JapaneseAmerican actress and singer Tamlyn Tomita. Born on January 27, 1966, the star is currently 56 years old.
Tomita was found at a beauty pageant in 1984 by an agent who asked her and other girls to audition for the film. The actress landed the role and the sequel became a smash hit, grossing $115 million at the box office.
Amlyn was one of the special guests on “Cobra Kai,” a series set more than 30 years after the events depicted in the films. Through an emotional sympathy, Tomita and Ralph Macchio reunite and reminisce about the past.
In an interview with Entretetizei, the actress spoke a little about the experience of reliving the character.
“It’s amazing to think that 35 years have passed, but it’s always so much fun. There’s never enough time to make up for everything that happened, but there’s always love involved,” the star said of the Macchio reunion.
Tamlyn also revealed that she last saw the actor in 2017 during an event dedicated to the Karate Kid movies.
“I think the last time we saw each other before filming Cobra Kai was in 2017, just before John Avildsen, director of The Karate Kid and The Karate Kid 2, hosted a film festival here in Santa Barbara. It was a retrospective of his films,” he revealed.
