Dancing On Ice viewers are furious as they accuse stars of clinging to their partners

Dancing on Ice returned for its second installment on Sunday, with stars including The Vivienne and Corries Mollie Gallagher all taking to the rink before footballer John Fashanu was voted first off the show.

However, viewers were unfazed by the lack of skating, accusing the celebs of “clinging” on their partners and joking that “there’s no chance of anyone falling.”

Even the judges noticed the trend, as actress Mollie was even told she relied too much on pro Sylvain Longchambon.

The viewer wrote on Twitter: “No chance of anyone falling tonight because they won’t let go of their partners!!”.

While another lashed out at footballer John’s routine: “Didn’t even go skating alone, held her hand the whole time. Bring him out’.

With a second writing: ‘He held on to partner all the time 5/4.5 is real. Forgiveness’.

Despite scoring just 19 out of 40, another viewer explained that John was “oversubscribed”: “Oversubscribed, he spent most of his routine not moving his feet”.

While Hollyoaks’ Carley Stenson, who scored an impressive 32 points, also caught the viewers’ rat with a comment: “Sorry she was holding him the whole time and getting 8s across the board, fixed”.

Elsewhere on the show Vivienne made history on the ITV show by becoming the first drag queen to perform.

Impressed, Chris said: “A star was born on the ice tonight. Our very own diva on the ice, but you are by far our best skater.”

Despite the glitz and glamor, it was a rough start to the series for Love Island fan favorite Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who landed in the last two by earning the fewest public votes.

The Love Island star recreated a memorable scene from the ITV2 reality show which saw her crawling on the floor, sparking over 100 Ofcom complaints from viewers who thought the routine was too racy for the family-friendly series.

Ahead of the skate-off, she said: “I’m not going to lie, I was really upset about what I did wrong, but I’m strong, I have to work hard and prove myself. ‘

With the five celebrities appearing in week two, it was time to find out who would be dancing in the bottom two again next week – and risking being sent home.
