The singer and his girlfriend, both cat lovers, had approached Bologna’s cat oasis in October 2021 after the fire. Since then, an initial donation and a promise to visit the Oasis, whose work they continued to follow in the months that followed. When they returned from their vacation in Puglia, they stopped in the Bolognese area to meet all the cats welcome in Pianoro and officially adopt their Ziggy, who has different colored eyes like the character of
David Bowie.
“Hi, my name is Ziggy Stardust,” writes Giorgia Soleri in a first-person post introducing the newcomer: “I come from the Feline Oasis of Pianoro, where I was rescued after horrendous suffering.
I am 6 years old, meowing like a duck, wagging my tail as a sign of appreciation, my little black eye is blind, I have heterochromia and anisocoria, I wash and when I suckle I make a sound very similar to you humans is broth and most importantly I have reached the highest level as a cat shell. I like sleeping, waking someone up with my choked meow, and being pampered like there’s no tomorrow. we’ll see each other often on these screens, now I’ll meow in the face of my brother Legolas and my sister Bidet regardless of their perplexity…”.
On the official Oasis Facebook profile, the volunteers wanted to express all their appreciation for Damiano and Giorgia, telling how the adoption of Ziggy Stardust, whom they originally called Matteo, had taken place: “Dear friends of the Oasis, today it’s us little “excited because we have a special story to tell you. A few weeks ago we published the story of Mattia, a beautiful cat who came to the oasis with many health problems. Mattia was not eating and was breathing very badly. He was in pain everywhere hair was missing in many places and various wounds, especially in the neck area. (…) Mattia also had a special feature: two eyes of different colors and one of these eyes blinded him… “.
The post continues by telling how, after reading Matteo’s story, Damiano and Giorgia kept abreast of his conditions until they decided to go to the Osi to meet him: “It was love at first Look”, add the volunteers of the oases wondering: “What remains of this story? Not so much that we could welcome two well-known people in Italy and even more, but that two sensitive people who take care of the needs of the animals , have decided to give them a home and a future of love for an adult, disabled, abused cat.
