Cubans make caravan from Hialeah to Palm Beach in support

Hundreds of Cubans marched from Hialeah to Palm Beach, Fla., this weekend in a caravan in support of former US President Donald Trump following last week’s FBI raid.

The Cubans left a Hialeah parking lot for Mar-a-Lago in a caravan laden with flags in support of Trump and the Republican Party, where the majority of Cubans living in that country come from.

The Cuban community is one of the Hispanic communities that has given the most support to former President Trump, supporting his possible candidacy in 2024. Recall that the most well-known pro-Trump voice in Florida for the re-election campaign against Biden was Cuban actress Susana Perez.

Last week, the FBI searched Trump’s home for “secret” documents the former president allegedly took from the White House at the end of his term. So far, however, no details of the finds have been announced.

There had previously been a demonstration by Cubans in support of Trump in front of the Versailles restauranton Calle Ocho in Miami, and which was called by the anti-communist organization Vigilia Mambisa.

“Trump’s friends are here to support him,” said Miguel Saavedra, one of the leaders of Vigilia Mambisa. At the President’s call, Cubans spent several minutes expressing their “solidarity” with the former ruler.

“The political hunt they are putting on President Trump is too much. It is too much! Leave him alone! That had never been done to any president here‘ a Cuban woman told the local press at the demonstration.
