Cuba Mourns Gambia Vice President

HAVANA, Jan 18 (ACN) Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, today mourned the death of Badara Alieu Joof, Vice President of The Gambia.

Via a message on the social network Twitter, the Foreign Minister expressed his condolences to the people and government of The Gambia, which he extended to his family and friends.

“We offer our deepest condolences to the people and government of The Gambia on the death of Vice President Badara Alieu Joof and to his family and friends.”

Before assuming the Vice Presidency in May 2022, Joof was Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.

Cuba and The Gambia established diplomatic relations in 1979 and have shared healthcare for more than three decades.
