Cristin Coleman wife of ex Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum has died

Cristin Coleman, wife of ex-Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum, has died aged 38

Cristin Coleman, wife of former San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum, died earlier this summer, the baseball organization said.

Giants officials confirmed her death in a tweet wrote Thursday afternoon that the organization was “extremely saddened” to learn of Coleman’s death.

“She was loved by the Giants family and her caring and genuine nature touched those of us who were lucky enough to know her during her and Timmy’s years with us,” the organization wrote.

Coleman died at home on June 27 after battling cancer, the San Mateo Daily Journal reported.

According to public records, Coleman was 38 years old at the time of her death.

She was a longtime educator, working as the principal at Washington Elementary School in Burlingame, where she’s been since 2018, according to LinkedIn.

Prior to her position in the Burlingame School District, Coleman worked in Mill Valley as an assistant principal at Edna Maguire Elementary School and as a teacher at Park School.

Shana Daum, the Giants’ senior vice president of communications and community relations, told The Chronicle that the team learned of Coleman’s death on Thursday — and that the two recently married.

“Tim is very private and we honor and respect his privacy,” Daum said. “Our hearts are heavy to hear this news.”

Spokespersons for Washington Elementary School and the Burlingame School District were unable to provide statements at the time of publication.
