The 58-year-old show judge, who hails from Australia, couldn’t wipe his smile from his face in Birmingham.

“It was an interesting experience watching the show as a regular person at home because I usually feel like I’m working.

“I don’t see it as entertainment, but I’ve found it to be really good fun. It made me smile and laugh and I totally got into it and I’m addicted to it!’

“It’s work for me, so sitting at home and watching all the VTs without knowing the dance routines or anything like that reminded me what a wonderful show it really is.”
