COVID 19 four more deaths in Quebec

COVID-19: Quebec records 16 new deaths; 2011 people hospitalized

The number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Quebec remained above the 2000 mark for the second straight day, while 16 more deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours.

A total of 2,011 Quebecers occupy a hospital bed, including 682 due to COVID-19, an increase of eight from Wednesday’s results.

Of these, 45 are in intensive care, five fewer than the day before.

Nearly 1,157 new cases were also registered at screening centers, while 229 positive rapid tests were self-reported on Wednesday.

Public Health also said 4,331 healthcare workers are still off the network due to the virus.

  • 45 people in intensive care, including 22 due to COVID-19, a decrease of 5 compared to the previous day;
    • 6 new entries,
    • 11 new releases;
  • 12,994 samples taken on August 16;
  • So far 277,829 self-declared rapid tests, of which 232,573 are positive: 266 declared for yesterday, of which 229 are positive.

* Keep in mind that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation as access to screening centers is restricted to priority constituencies.
