Quebec on Wednesday reported 18 more COVID-19-related deaths as the province’s decline in hospital admissions continued.
Eight patients have left hospitals in the province in the past 24 hours, according to the latest report on the pandemic, which reports 1,008 people still present in relation to the virus.
In the intensive care unit, an additional bed is occupied compared to the previous day, for a total of 22 patients.
La Belle province also reported 895 new cases of COVID-19 among those with access to testing centers and 290 self-reported positive rapid tests.
Another 4,335 healthcare workers are absent from the network for reasons related to the virus, either preventive withdrawal, isolation or awaiting results.
Across the Ottawa River, Ontario also saw a decrease in hospitalizations (506, -6) and critical care (115, -1).
The most populous province recorded eight more deaths and 786 more infections among those who took a PCR test.
