Court sentenced former Bayern Munich player Boateng for bodily harm football international

Former Bayern player Jerome Boateng has been sentenced to a €1.2 million fine in the appeal process for intentional bodily harm.

The responsible district court in Munich established 120 per diems of 10,000 euros. This would mean that Boateng would have a criminal record, unlike the lower court judgment. The 34-year-old can appeal again.

Boateng had already been sentenced to a €1.8 million fine in the autumn of the previous year and later appealed. The public prosecutor demanded a suspended sentence of a year and a half, Boateng’s lawyers asked for acquittal.

The former DFB team player was found guilty of injuring and insulting his former teammate and mother of their twin daughters during a holiday together. Boateng denied the allegations to the end.
