The Coronation Street star leaves a ‘dream job’ on the ITV soap and confirms she’s already filmed her final scenes

Coronation Street’s Amy Robbins has announced she has left the ITV soap opera after making its debut just weeks ago.

The 51-year-old actress, who plays Daisy Midgeley’s mother Christina Boyd, revealed she has already filmed her final scenes on the cobblestones.

Amy took to social media to share a photo of herself hugging her co-stars Charlotte Jordan and Rob Mallard while gushed about her “dream job.”

She wrote: “And so… Christina bids a loving farewell to her beloved, long-suffering Daisy and her darling-to-be-in-law Daniel.

‘@charliejordanxo @rob.mallard @sallyannmathews I will miss you. Thank you EVERYONE at @coronationstreet for making me so welcome. When it comes to dream jobs…this one was hard to beat.’

Amy, TV star Emily Atack’s aunt, has previously had minor roles in Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Blood Brothers and a starring role in The Royal.

Her comedian brother Ted Robbins, 67, previously starred in Coronation Street as Brendan Finch alongside Mary Taylor as her love interest.

Amy previously spoke of her excitement at landing the role of Daisy’s long-lost mother, and gushed that her family of show business stars is “very pleased” with her.

Speaking to The Mirror, the actress said she burst into tears when she heard she landed the role of Christina.

She explained: “My family is very happy for me. You know how much this role on Coronation Street means to me.

“We never compete with each other and are all very close. My father, Michael, has worked in vaudeville all his life and my mother, Elizabeth, has sung.

“Show business is in our DNA, it’s a family business that has lasted for generations.”
