The draw for the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, taking place this Friday, has brought a match between Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu and a match between Barcelona and Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou. The two greats of Spanish football were lucky enough to play the game at home. Osasuna host Sevilla in weak hours in the league and Valencia will relive last year’s semi-final against Athletic but in a single game and at the Mestalla.
The qualifiers, which will also be played in a single game, will take place on January 24th, 25th and 26th. The quarter-finals of this season are very attractive, with the top six teams in the historical La Liga table, eight (Real Sociedad) and fourteen (Osasuna). Although the current champions (Betis) are eliminated, seven of the quarter-finalists have won the Copa del Rey on some occasion.
These are the matchup times:
Real Madrid vs Atlético de Madrid (Wednesday 25 January, 21:00)
Osasuna – Seville (Wednesday, January 25, 22:00)
Valencia v Athletic (Thursday 26 January, 20:00)
Barcelona – Real Sociedad (Thursday 26 January, 21:00)
