This was reported by the daily newspaper “New York Post”.

A four-time guest at the Big League All-Star Game, Gunner, 34, made his name with the New York Yankees. From 2014 through 2017, he had 306 2/3 innings and posted a 2.11 ERA. He’s fueled at least 100 batters in five consecutive years. The right-hander also played for the Mets but has been plagued by injuries since 2019, including to his shoulder and Achilles tendon.

Betances faced the Los Angeles Dodgers organization this year, but good performances were rare, so he was fired shortly before deciding to retire. At the AAA level with the Oklahoma City Club, he lost all three decisions and averaged 11.08. In 13 innings, he gave up 16 runs earned, 10 hits and 14 walks. He also played briefly in the rookie league, allowing three runs in three and two-thirds innings.

His last appearance in the majors was in 2021. He finished his career at the highest level with a 21-23 record and a 2.53 GAA after batting at 633 in nearly 400 innings on the hill.
