Colts seek interview with Bengals’ Brian Callahan for head coaching job – Cincy Jungle

The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing for the Divisional Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills with a trip to the AFC Championship game at stake.

However, since the seasons of many other teams are already over, coaching changes are already beginning.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that the Indianapolis Colts have requested an interview with Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan for her job as head coach.

Callahan has been with the Bengals since 2019 and has been instrumental in building the culture around the team. He is also now the longest-serving OC in the AFC North after the retirement of Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

The 38-year-old son of Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan has garnered a lot of attention as the future NFL head coach since the Bengals’ magical run in the Super Bowl last season. That should continue after this year’s group finished the regular season 12-4 and is now in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

As long as the Bengals continue to win, as they have for the past two seasons, they will have assistants looking for head coaching spots in the NFL and collegiate ranks.

The Bengals and Bills kicks off Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET in Buffalo and will air on CBS.
