Colombian President Receives Cuban Foreign Minister; Russia condemns Ukraine attacks on nuclear power plant; Israel launches attacks on Gaza; China resumes military exercises

COLOMBIAN PRESIDENT RECEIVES CUBA’S FOREIGN MINISTER

Party Politburo member and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla said on Twitter that he was received by the President of the Republic of Colombia, Gustavo Petro. “We reaffirm our willingness to strengthen the deep cultural and historical ties between our peoples. RUSSIA MONITORS UKRAINE ATTACKS ON ZAPOROZHIE NPP

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zajárova condemned the recent attacks by Ukraine’s armed forces on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and warned that the situation around the power plant was “getting more and more dangerous”. The spokeswoman said it was only possible to avoid a catastrophe thanks to the efforts of the workers at the plant and the Russian military, which guarantees the protection of the plant. Zakharova pointed out that by aiming their artillery at the active reactors and the spent fuel storage facility, the Ukrainians are “aiming at themselves”. (RT)

ISRAEL LAUNCHES NEW ATTACKS AGAINST GAZA AFTER ARRANGEMENT BEGINS

Authorities of the occupying Israeli forces admitted to carrying out attacks in Gaza after the ceasefire agreed with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement began. However, it remains in force. CHINA CONTINUES WITH MILITARY EXERCISES NEAR TAIWAN

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command continued joint combat and training exercises around the island of Taiwan. The maneuvers took place in the waters and airspace off the north, south-west and east coasts of the island. Taiwanese authorities have accused the Chinese army of faking an invasion, for which they have declared a state of alert. The PLA Air Force Corps used multiple aircraft types, including fighters, bombers, early warning aircraft, and electronic reconnaissance aircraft, in missions including reconnaissance, air control, support and cover, and air strikes.
