A young Polish girl causes controversy on the web: she claims on Instagram that she is Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in 2007. According to her testimony, even Maddie’s parents have already agreed to a DNA test.

On May 3, 2007, British girl Madeleine McCann, then three years old, also known as Maddie, disappeared from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal. The parents left Maddie and her two younger siblings at the apartment while they had dinner with friends at a nearby restaurant. They checked the children regularly – until the mother suddenly realized with horror: Maddie’s bed was empty and the patio door was open. Since then, there has been no more trace of the girl.

German suspect charged

German authorities are convinced that Madeleine McCann, then aged three, was killed by pedophile Christian Brückner, now aged 46, in Portugal. The German was indicted by the public prosecutor in Braunschweig last year. He is charged with a total of three counts of aggravated rape and two counts of child molestation between late December 2000 and June 2017 in Portugal. The man is serving a seven-year prison sentence for the 2005 rape of an American woman in Praia da Luz, Portugal.
