Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced they welcomed a baby girl on Friday, sharing the first adorable snap of their newborn and revealing their name.
The 37-year-old model and the 44-year-old singer, who welcomed their child on Friday January 13, posted a sweet snap showing the baby being welcomed by their older siblings – daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles (4) – being cuddled.
The post shared the baby’s name and read: “She’s here! Esti Maxine Stephens – the house is busy and our family couldn’t be happier.

Legend first shared the news when he appeared at a private concert last Friday night and told the crowd that he and his wife welcomed “the little baby this morning.”
“What a blessed day,” the singer said, adding that while he “didn’t get much sleep,” he felt “excited” after spending “a lot of time” at Chrissy’s side in the hospital.

Chrissy announced she was pregnant back in August on Instagram, posting photos of her blossoming baby bump.
The happy news came almost two years after she and John lost their son Jack at 20 weeks pregnant. She later revealed that her late son’s death was the result of a life-saving abortion, not a miscarriage as she originally said.
She explained that she made the “difficult decision” to terminate the pregnancy after coming to terms with the fact that she and Jack were likely to survive.
“Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby who had absolutely no chance. And to be honest I never put this together until a few months ago,” Chrissy confessed, according to THR.
In her pregnancy announcement, Chrissy described the last few years as a “blurring of feelings” after losing Jack and then struggling to conceive through IVF. Now her home is filled with “joy” again.

“The last few years have been a tangle of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our homes and hearts again,” she began in the post.

“At every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘Okay, if it’s healthy today, I’ll announce it,’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief when I hear a heartbeat and decide I’m still too nervous.
“I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nervousness but so far everything is perfect and beautiful and I feel hopeful and great. Ok, phew, it was very hard to keep that down for so long!’

In February 2022, Chrissy – who achieved a year of sobriety in July of that year – confirmed to her 37million followers that she was going through the IVF process in hopes of conceiving again.
“I humbly ask you to stop asking if I’m pregnant because I’m the opposite of pregnant!” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
She continued, “I’ve posted about this in my stories but wanted to let you guys know I’m on another IVF cycle to save as many eggs as possible and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos.”
Chrissy went on to express her frustration with the procedure, noting, “I honestly don’t mind the shots… they make me feel like a doctor/chemist… but the bloat be damned.

In September 2020, Chrissy and John tragically lost their third child, a baby boy named Jack, at 20 weeks pregnant.
Chrissy shared the heartbreaking news with her Instagram followers shortly after the horrific experience, posting photos of herself in hospital mourning the loss of her child.

Shortly thereafter, she announced that she could no longer carry a child.
“I love being pregnant so much and I’m sad that I will never be again,” she posted on Instagram.
Despite the loss, Chrissy expressed her gratitude for her other two children, both of whom were conceived through IVF.

According to Thai tradition, the energetic parents planted a tree in their house in honor of Jack.

“For us in the Thai tradition, it’s important that we always hug those we’ve lost and they’re never, ever gone.
“This tree was planted in the house, the only reason I wanted it was so Jack’s ashes could be in this soil and he could be with us all the time and grow through the beautiful leaves in this tree,” she said.
“The way Miles and Luna talk about him is so beautiful and reminds me of when I was little and talking to my grandpa who was sitting next to my mom in a little urn by the bed,” she said.
“It’s all beautiful and I love that tradition is carried down.”

John said in an interview with The Guardian after the couple’s tragic loss: “It was a tragedy.
“But I think it strengthened our resolve and our resilience because we were there for each other. We came out even more confident about who we were as a couple and as a family.
“It was raw to share our experience. I was worried but our instinct was to do it because people knew we were pregnant and Chrissy felt she had to tell the full story of what happened.
